The summer season is always the most popular time to stay at Victoria, when the climate is at its most pleasant, and the days are at their very longest. In mid-June, daylight hours exceed 15 hours a day, so you can be sure that there is plenty going on at this time of the year, well into the late evening.

Interesting, the weather of Victoria is influenced by its sheltered position, being protected by surrounding mountain ranges, and this is known as the 'rainshadow' effect. Each year, the city sees in excess of 2,200 hours of sunshine, making it amongst the sunniest locations in the whole of British Columbia.
